The Vidyalaya(Bengali & English media) with its Higher Secondary section is a Residential School, affiliated to the Board of Secondary Education and Council of Higher Secondary Education, West Bengal, where an attempt is made to impart an all-round education to young boys with the idea of implementing 'man-making and characterbuilding' ideas of education as propounded by Swami Vivekananda. The school consists of two separate campuses each with its own school building and students' homes. The Vidyalaya has 830 students residing in nine separate homes. The boys of classes V, VI & VII stay in the Junior Section. Here they have a nice three-storied school building and homes. They have a number of playgrounds, a library specially meant for young readers, a book bank and a small auditorium for cultural activities. The boys of classes VIII, IX, X , XI and XII reside in the Senior Section where they have the same facilities as the junior boys. The senior boys have a large two-storied school building, homes, workshops and agricultural field laboratory. In addition to a well-stocked school library and book bank, the facilities of the large Ashrama library are also open to the students. The Vidyalaya follows the syllabus of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Educationand Council of Higher Secondary Education and accordingly prepares the students for the Secondary and Higher Secondary Examinations. Boys are admitted to class V after an admission test held in March every year. The Vidyalaya has made an excellent tradition of good results over the years.
